Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge is situated near the Kruger National Park, is easy accessible and it’s an ideal base from which to explore all this region has to offer. This is Africa at its best – it combines intimacy with nature, in comfort and warm hospitality. Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge accommodates quests in en-suite rondavels (hut houses) with an attractive Afro-ethnic theme. Whether sipping sundowners on a game drive, or relaxing beside the sparkling pool, guests soon discovers that at Mohlabetsi, the accent is on comfort and unobtrusive attentiveness and meals are a culinary delight. The view is of open plains across the Mohlabetsi valley, with the Drakensberg Escarpment in the background. This panorama is enjoyed from a wonderful thatched lapa and bar where one may watch animals come to drink at a pan in the foreground.
This 4 star camp is a green oasis in the Bush. There are only six African rondawels and two Family Lodges, ensuring the luxury of a small and intimate camp. The Lodge is newly renovated and offers a wonderful base for your Safaris.
The Lodge is nestled under age-old trees with a panoramic view over the bush and onto a well-frequented waterhole. The shady lawns, with chaise lounges, create a wonderful scene of tranquility. The entrance is a thatched portico leading onto a lounge, bar and dining area. Alma’s spectacular Curio shop offering locally made souvenirs is well worth a visit too. Our Boma is a reeded enclosure with a crackling log fire, where sumptuous dinners are served.
A rondawel is a typical African “round hut” under thatch. They are tastefully appointed in an ethnic theme and each have a marvelous al fresco shower for a wonderful “close to nature“ experience. The rooms are fully equipped with amenities and toiletries as well as hairdryers and personal safes. The windows and entrance are insect-proofed for your comfort and there is a ceiling fan for those warm summer nights. There
are four twin bedded rondawels and two with a king size bed. It is also possible to place a small sleeper bed in the room for a young child.
Our Family Lodges offer superb comfort for small parties. Each Lodge has two rooms with an interleading door for privacy. One room has a Queen bed and the other has two single beds - it is possible to add a sleeper bed too, thereby accommodating five guests. Each room has its own facilities and al fresco shower. The Lodges are equipped similarly to the Rondawels.
